MEET UNCALLED FOUR

Uncalled Four is an acapella quartet and a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society.  The term Barbershop describes a style of music native to the United States (although it is now sung around the world) in which four individuals, each singing a different part, are striving not only to sing the right notes or create a chord, but attempting to match vawel sounds, timbre of voice, and volume levels so the notes blend together into a unified whole.  If done right, four voices can create five, six or even more notes, which can make some of the most beautiful and powerful music you will ever hear.  Barbershop is also different in that the melody line is not sung by the highest part, as in much acapella or choral music.  The parts are, in order from highest to lowest, Tenor, Lead, Baritone and Bass, with the Lead singing the melody most of the time.

OK, enough of the boring stuff.  What barbershop means, for us as a quartet, is an opportunity to spend time with good friends, create chords so beautiful you'll get goosebumps, and bring smiles to as many faces as possible!  It's about enjoying life to the fullest, and helping other people to do the same.  Many people think of Barbershop harmony as old guys nobody has heard of singing songs nobody cares about anymore.  We want to change that perception, and have a blast while doing it!

So, if you are interested in some fun entertainment for a birthday party, office party, wedding, midlife crisis or other event, or if you want to send someone a singing valentine to let them know you care (and it doesn't have to be in February), give us a call or an email.  We will help you make your event a memorable one!
